T'wolves C Collins undergoes successful surgery
Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Timberwolves center Jason Collins underwent successful surgery to repair a partial rupture of the triceps tendon in his right elbow.

Dr. David Auerbach of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute performed the procedure on Monday, and Collins is expected to be sidelined for the next eight weeks.

Collins, the 18th overall selection of the Houston Rockets in the 2001 NBA Draft, holds career averages of 4.3 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Mike Miller led Minnesota in minutes played in their preseason opener. Over 26 minutes, the veteran missed just one shot as he scored 12 points and collected seven assists.

Our View:Rashad McCants and Corey Brewer also saw a lot of action and McCants finished with 22 points in 19 minutes. Miller can play multiple positions and should not see much reduction in his playing time despite Minnesota's depth on the wing.

Timberwolves rookie Kevin Love scored 13 points, snagged five boards, and blocked one shot in his team's 117-79 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:The paper also reported that the young forward attempted to dunk a ball, only to see it get stuck in between the rim and the backboard.

Al Jefferson scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards in just 19 minutes of work on Monday night in the win against the Bucks.

Our View:Jefferson is coming off his second straight 11 rebound campaign and he also tossed in a career best 21.1 points per game last year. Guys that average double-doubles aren't easy to find, there were only nine last season, so his value is certainly high.
