Hornets extend lease, but could still opt out of agreement
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets and the state of Louisiana reached a deal Wednesday that extends the team's lease through 2014, but provisions in the agreement could allow the club to leave after next season.

The Hornets agreed to a two-year extension, covering the two years lost during the team's relocation to Oklahoma City following Hurricane Katrina. Sean Marks has inked a deal with the Hornets, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Hornets' GM Jeff Bower said, "We are excited for Sean to join our team. He is a veteran leader who has been on winning teams and will be a great addition to our frontcourt."

Our View:The 6-foot-10, 250-pounder is a nine-year veteran of the NBA, and provides the versatility to play center or power forward. He will provide favorable depth in New Orleans, but won't be fantasy worthy.

Devin Brown, G

Devin Brown has signed with the Hornets, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:The veteran swingman will provide depth off the bench for New Orleans, but his fantasy value will remain limited. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.4 boards over 22.6 minutes per game with Cleveland last season.

Jannero Pargo, G

Jannero Pargo has decided to leave the Hornets and the NBA to play in Russia for Moscow Dynamo, according to the AP. He reportedly agreed in principle to a one-year contract worth about $4 million.

Our View:He served as a valuable sixth-man for the Hornets as he averaged 8.1 points over 18.7 minutes per contest in 2007-08. The lure of guaranteed money in Russia beat out the most serious bids made by the Spurs and Hawks.
