Tyson Chandler, C Friday 10/10, 10:53 PM CT
Tyson Chandler racked up 14 points and five boards in Friday's 89-84 win over the Spurs. He played exactly 24 minutes and shot 7-of-9 from the field.

Our View: He had been dealing with a sprained ankle, but was not hindered in tonight's solid performance.
Peja Stojakovic, G Wednesday 10/8, 9:15 PM CT
Peja Stojakovic rebounded from a poor preseason debut by going 4-for-4 from behind the arc in the Hornets' second preseason game. He finished with 14 points, two steals, and two rebounds.

Our View: This is what you can expect from Peja - inconsistency, threes in bunches and little else. He can carry a team in threes but will not help out much in any other category.
Chris Paul, G Wednesday 10/8, 9:10 PM CT
Chris Paul played like an all-star in 22 minutes on Wednesday as the Hornets beat the Pacers 105-71. He scored 17 points on nine shots and added five assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Our View: Paul is being universally selected in the Top 3 of fantasy drafts and well he should be. He puts up very good numbers across the board while dominating assists, free throw percentage and steals categories.
Tyson Chandler, C Monday 10/6, 7:36 PM CT
Tyson Chandler sat out the Hornets practice on Monday due to the ankle he sprained against the Warriors on Sunday, according to The Times-Picayune. Chandler believes he will be able to practice on Tuesday but he may not be game ready for the clubs matchup with the Pacers on Wednesday.

Our View: Backup Hilton Armstrong will look to take advantage of the minutes to increase his role with the team this season. The report stated that Chandler could probably play if it was a regular season game, so continue to draft him with confidence as the injury appears to be minor.
Tyson Chandler, C Sunday 10/5, 9:15 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Tyson Chandler's injured ankle appears to not be too serious as he remained on the bench and chatted with his teammates while expressing no signs of outward pain in the second hald, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Chandler will likely be monitored for a while to see how the joint responds to treatment, but it appears that he has avoided something substantial that could drop him out of being selected as one of the top-5 or so centers in the game.
Peja Stojakovic, G Sunday 10/5, 9:08 PM CT
Peja Stojakovic went 2-for-8 from the field, including just 1-for-7 on three pointers, on his way to six points in 22 minutes of action on Sunday night.

Our View: Peja has been dealing with an issue with one of his big toes, so it was a positive to see him moving pretty comfortably tonight. He is no longer a game breaker, but he did score 16.4 points a game last season while draining 231 three's, so he still has a whole lot of value in the fantasy game.
David West, F Sunday 10/5, 9:06 PM CT
David West went 8-for-9 from the field on his way to a game-high 19 points in the Hornets 106-103 victory over the Warriors.

Our View: West will look to team with Chris Paul to once again be one of the top inside/outside duos in the NBA. West averaged 20.6 points and 8.9 boards a game last season, and there is no reason to expect a regression from those totals in 2008.
Tyson Chandler, C Sunday 10/5, 7:00 PM CT
Tyson Chandler was forced from the Hornets game with the Warriors on Sunday night with an ankle injury, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: The Hornets could ill afford to lose Chandler who recoded an average of 11.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last season. Stay tuned for further updates on the severity of the injury.
Chris Paul, G Sunday 10/5, 5:11 PM CT
Chris Paul will have his minutes limited in the preseason in order to preserve him for when the games count, according to WBRZ News. “I don’t want to play him a lot of minutes," HC Byron Scott said. "I’ve been pretty consistent with keeping him in that 34 to 35-minute range (during the regular season), and I want to make sure it stays that way.”

Our View: Devin Brown and Mike James will battle for the backup PG spot, though neither will have much value given that Paul will play all the substantial minutes throughout the year. Don't let this news dissuade you from drafting Paul in the top-3, he will produce huge numbers regardless of what the coach hopes to do with his minutes.
Sean Marks, F Saturday 10/4, 5:56 PM CT
Sean Marks will not play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Warriors due to a strained right calf, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: He is getting better, but the team is holding him out as a precaution to prevent the risk of the injury becoming more severe. The backup center only averages 3.1 points over his NBA career, and his fantasy stock will not improve in New Orleans.
Rasual Butler, G Saturday 10/4, 5:30 PM CT
Rasual Butler will miss Sunday's preseason opener due to a strained groin, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: The team wants to be sure the ailment is completely healed before letting him return to the court, to prevent the risk of further injury. As a fantasy forward, Butler isn't productive enough to merit attention.
