Steve Blake, G Monday 10/13, 10:11 AM CT
Steve Blake is expected to resume practicing Tuesday after missing a few weeks due to a hamstring injury, according to the Blazers' official website.

Our View: He is projected to start at point guard this season, but will likely rotate with Sergio Rodriguez and rookie Jerryd Bayless, hence cutting into his minutes and fantasy potential.
Nicolas Batum, G Sunday 10/12, 7:35 PM CT
Rookie Nicolas Batum led all Portland scorer's with 16 points through 31 minutes in Sunday's 93-80 loss to the Utah Jazz. He had two steals, three blocks, and two three-pointers.

Our View: The 19-year-old showed some of the promise that made him so highly regarded coming into this past summer's draft. The Blazers were without several players due to injury and there is still a possibility he may play over in Europe this season.
Shavlik Randolph, F Friday 10/10, 9:55 PM CT
Shavlik Randolph recorded a double-double in Friday's 102-80 preseason win over the Hawks, with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also recorded one steal and three blocks.

Our View: He was impressive in just under 20 minutes of action, but the Blazers are deep at forward and Randolph's playing time will be limited.
Martell Webster, G Thursday 10/9, 6:33 PM CT
Martell Webster had surgery to repair the broken bone in his left foot and will be out for eight to 10 weeks, according to the AP.

Our View: Altough nothing is certain, it would appear the Travis Outlaw could begin the season as the starting small forward in Webster's absence.
Rudy Fernandez, G Thursday 10/9, 10:39 AM CT
Rudy Fernandez will be evaluated Thursday, to determine how long he may be out of action after suffering an ankle injury Wednesday, according to the Oregonian.

Our View: The injury is not believed to be serious, but we will keep you posted on the results of his evaluation. If healthy, Fernandez could serve as a solid fantasy guard.
Greg Oden, C Wednesday 10/8, 11:46 PM CT
Greg Oden scored 14 points in only 19 minutes of play on Wednesday night in the Blazers' 110-95 loss to the Warriors.

Our View: This is the second straight night that Oden has scored in double figures. If you are not worried about his injury history he could be a good fantasy pick.
Martell Webster, G Wednesday 10/8, 7:41 PM CT
The Oregonian reports that Martell Webster has a stress fracture in his left foot and will miss Portland's next preseason game. He has undergone an MRI but a timetable for his return has not been set.

Our View: Webster had the inside track on the starting small forward job but this could be a big set back. We should know more within 24 hours regarding how long he will be out.
Sergio Rodriguez, G Wednesday 10/8, 12:03 AM CT
Sergio Rodriguez got the start at point guard in the preseason opener against Sacramento while Steve blake is recovering from a hamstring ailment. Spanish Chocolate finished with 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block in 27 minutes of action.

Our View: Rodriguez could actually challenge Blake for the starting gig with a nice preseason. Tuesday has to be viewed as a step in that direction. He was 3-for-5 from downtown.
Martell Webster, G Wednesday 10/8, 12:00 AM CT
Martell Webster started at small forward and led Portland in scoring as they defeated the Kings 110-81 on Tuesday. He finished with 15 points, six rebounds, two steals, a block and a three in 26 minutes.

Our View: If Webster to average 15 points and six rebounds this season on top of his threes, he would hold very solid fantasy value. Coach Nate McMillan has said the small forward job is his to lose and the youngster could be on the verge of a breakout season.
Greg Oden, C Tuesday 10/7, 11:54 PM CT
Greg Oden needed just 20 minutes to garner 13 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists on Tuesday as Portland defeated Sacramento 110-81.

Our View: The rookie missed all of last season due to microfracture knee surgery but he should be productive in his rookie season. His history of injuries makes him a risky pick in fantasy leagues.
Steve Blake, G Thursday 10/2, 6:36 PM CT
Steve Blake's hamstring injury is more severe than initially believed and he could miss an extended amount of time, according to The Oregonian.

Our View: He plans to undergo ice and ultrasound treatment and ride a stationary bike during rehabilitation, and there is no timetable for his return. Sergio Rodriguez will initially assume Blake's starting position at point guard, ahead of rookie Jerryd Bayless.
Greg Oden, C Wednesday 10/1, 11:38 AM CT
Center Greg Oden "tweaked" his right ankle in practice on Tuesday, The Oregonian reports. He suffered the injury while battling fellow big man Joel Przybilla on a rebound. "It's just a little tweak; it wasn't like it was a major turn," general manager Kevin Pritchard says. "It was Grade One, and that means he could have probably gone back in there."

Our View: It sounds like Oden will be fine in a day or two, and we're obviously eager to get a look at the former No. 1 overall pick this preseason.
