Roger Mason Jr, G Tuesday 10/7, 7:33 PM CT
The Express News reports that Roger Mason Jr has played well in camp and will spend time at both guard positions this season.

Our View: Mason is entering his fifth NBA season, but didn't play in more than 60 games or average more than 12 minutes until last season in Washington. His hope is that, with the uptick in minutes he is likely to receive in San Antonio, he can finally establish himself as an NBA player. With Manu ginobili out, Mason could possibly see nearly 30 minutes per game in the first couple months.
Michael Finley, G Thursday 10/2, 12:37 PM CT
Michael Finley reported to camp 15 pounds lighter, according to the San Antonio Express-News. “I feel lighter, I feel better,” he said. “I just want to be prepared physically and mentally. Mentally, knowing that the opportunity of playing more minutes will be there, and I just want to be prepared at that task. Physically, I wanted to be in the best shape that I could be.”

Our View: With Manu Ginobili out for the start of the season, Michael Finley once again becomes fantasy-worthy. He could average more than 15 points over the first two months and is good for 1.5 threes and a steal most nights. Expect his numbers to go up across the board as he will be the Spurs' third option on offense.
Robert Horry, F Wednesday 10/1, 11:45 AM CT
Forward Robert Horry isn't on an NBA roster, but he isn't ready to retire. "Not being in camp doesn't feel strange at all," Horry informs the San Antonio Express-News. "My body has told me I need more than three months of rest between seasons. I haven't felt this good for a long time, physically and mentally, too... You'll probably see me on somebody's roster before the season is over."

Our View: Horry has entered that stage of his career where he can wait until February or March to sign with a contending team. Chances are pretty good that the Spurs will come calling in early 2009.
