Raptors sign Ukic
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors signed guard Roko Ukic to a three-year contract on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Ukic was a second-round pick in the 2005 NBA draft. He played in Italy last season with Lottomatica Virtus Roma and averaged career highs of 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 19 Euroleague contests.

Roko Ukic, the Raptors second round selection in the 2005 NBA Draft, has signed with the club to serve as the teams backup point guard, according to TSN.

Our View:Ukic is still only 22 years old, and he is currently playing for the Croatian National team trying to qualify for the Olympic Games. Last season in Italy he average 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 19 Euroleague games.

Nathan Jawai did not play in the Toronto Raptors summer league game yesterday due to a groin strain he suffered a few weeks ago, according to Slam! Sports.

Our View:Jawai is 6-foot-10 and nearly 300 pounds, so he has the body to play in the NBA, but he will need time to develop and become an impact player in both the NBA and fantasy leagues.
