Reports out of Miami indicate the Heat are due to come into open funds to pursue free agents in the coming years, and with that money they plan to show love to Carlos Boozer, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:The Heat likely will have a little more than $11 million next summer, assuming Shawn Marion isn't re-signed. Moving Michael Beasley to small forward would make it work and could put the Heat back on the map. It's all pie in the sky right now, but the future could be bright in Miami if they can get it done.

Andrei Kirilenko has been chosen to carry the Russian flag at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics on Friday, according to the Deseret News.

Our View:Thanks to a shoulder injury sustained by Maria Sharapova, Kirilenko has been given the honor.

The Utah Jazz have matched the offer sheet C.J. Miles signed with the Oklahoma City franchise, and will retain him, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Our View:The offer sheet was a four-year, $15 million deal, and though many expected the Jazz to let Miles walk, they decided he was too valuable. As a 21-year-old, Miles has a bright future, but as of right now, his fantasy impact is low.
