Matt Harpring, G

Matt Harpring is still recovering from an infection in his ankle from June ankle surgery and it is unclear when or if he will be able to return to the court, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. "I don't know," Harpring said. "We'll see how it goes. I can't say. It depends on how quickly it gets better. If it all of a sudden jumps, you know, just makes a great stride, then maybe."

Our View: Harpring may miss the entire preseason with the ankle issue. The injury, plus a down 2007 season (8.2 points), paint his prospects as bleak heading into the 2008 campaign.

Brevin Knight, G

Brevin Knight strained his lower back during Wednesday's practice and sat out Thursday, according to the Deseret News.

Our View: The 32-year-old vet holds no fantasy value as a reserve in Utah.

Carlos Boozer, F

Forward Carlos Boozer doesn't want to make any contract decision until after the 2008-09 season. He is eligible to opt out of his current deal after this campaign. "We're gonna let (contract matters) slide, so it's ready to be dealt with in the summertime," Boozer tells the Deseret News.

Our View: We all know Boozer is a man of his word when it comes to contracts. Just ask Gordon Gund. It seems like the Jazz are letting Boozer dictate the negotiation times, but they should be prepared for him to jump ship next summer.
