September 5, 2008
The Tampa Tribune reports that Joey Galloway is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. He has missed the entire preseason due to a groin injury.

Our View:If you have another option besides Galloway, use it. As of now the chances of him playing are 50/50 at best. Even if he does play, expect him to be a little rusty.
September 3, 2008
Joey Galloway was forced to miss all of the preseason due to a groin injury but he deems himself ready to go for Sunday's opener against the Saints, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:This is good news for the Buccaneers, as well as fantasy owners who have Galloway, as he has a track record of playing well against the Saints.
August 25, 2008
Bucs wide receiver Joey Galloway, who had been nursing a groin injury, returned to practice and may play in the team's final preseason game on Thursday, according to PewterReport.com.

Our View:Galloway has not played yet in the preseason, so getting some work in may be wise. Assuming he has completely healed from his groin injury, Galloway is a solid option at receiver for fantasy owners.
August 22, 2008
Joey Galloway remains hindered by his groin ailment and is expected to miss his third preseason game Saturday, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:He could miss all four preseason games, but is expected to return to practice early next week. If healthy, Galloway would rank as a favorable No. 2 fantasy receiver.
August 19, 2008
After drawing the ire of head coach Jon Gruden on Monday for missing so much time, Tampa Bay wide receiver Joey Galloway practiced on Tuesday for the first time, according to the TBO.com.

Our View:Galloway had been out with a groin injury, and Gruden was none too pleased that the veteran wide out had not been to practice. Galloway remains a solid No. 2 wide receiver on fantasy squads, assuming he is healthy.
August 18, 2008
Coach Jon Gruden is starting to lose his patience with Joey Galloway's groin injury, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Gruden said, "He's got to get back on the field, We need to get him back out there. This guy hasn't worn a football uniform since the Giants game (playoffs)."

Our View:Galloway is not in jeopardy of being cut, but there remains no timetable as to when he may begin practicing. It is uncertain if he will be ready to go in Week 1.
August 15, 2008
The Buccaneers finished training camp and Joey Galloway did not participate in one team drill or practice, according to the Tampa Tribune. He continues to be hindered by his sore groin.

Our View:Galloway would rank as a top-20 fantasy receiver if healthy, but he should be drafted with caution. He could be ineffective early in the season.
August 12, 2008
Joey Galloway likely will not play a down of football in the preseason, according to the St. Petersburg Times. "We rested him last year and I'm still resting him," Bucs head coach Jon Gruden said.

Our View:Galloway is suffering from a strained groin, and though he did not play much last year in the preseason and still excelled, you have to wonder if he can just turn on the jets out of the gate in Week 1. Fantasy owners should keep this in mind before drafting him.
August 4, 2008
Coach Jon Gruden expected Joey Galloway to start participating in practice Monday, but the veteran receiver is once again working out on his own, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:Galloway walked onto the field wearing football cleats and a helmet, but he was carrying running shoes on a day when everyone else is wearing shoulder pads. He has been dealing with a sore groin since before camp started.
August 3, 2008
The reports from Tampa Bay have veteran wide receiver Joey Galloway working with a high-school phenom, namely Tampa Catholic quarterback D.J. Williams, son of former Bucs QB Doug Williams, as he works his way back from a strained groin, according to TBO.com.

Our View:The younger Williams is throwing passes to Galloway, who is running routes at about 80 percent speed. Galloway is looking sharp, and at this rate, should be able to practice this week.
August 2, 2008
Coach Jon Gruden stated that Joey Galloway will likely return to practice Monday, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He missed the first week of camp due to a groin ailment.

Our View:The injury is minor and the Buccaneers' No.1 receiver should not be dropped down fantasy draft boards.
July 28, 2008
Joey Galloway missed his third straight day of practice Monday as he continues to be hindered by a groin ailment, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:The ailment is believed to be minor and the 36-year-old vet isn't going to be hurt much by missing some camp time.
July 26, 2008
The Bucs are reporting top receiver Joey Galloway has suffered a groin strain and will be held out of training camp workouts as a result, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:The reports indicate the injury was suffered first during the offseason during Galloway's rigorous training regiment. With a lack of reliable targets listed behing Galloway on the depth chart, it would seem likely the team is going to give him every opportunity to rest and get healthy, thus we anticipate he will be sitting more than working at training camp this season.
June 5, 2008
Joey Galloway said he is fully recovered from off-season shoulder surgery, according to the Tampa Tribune. He said, "It’s fine, it’s ready to go. I have a lot of confidence in our medical staff here. It was pretty smooth and the rehab was pretty smooth."

Our View:This is favorable news, but he is still 36 years old, and will be hard-pressed to remain intact for a full 16-game slate in 2008.
April 8, 2008
Joey Galloway made a surprise appearance at the Buccaneers' first OTA, according to the Tampa Tribune. He was expected to miss most of the offseason workouts while he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery, but he participated in the early individual portion, and even caught a few passes. This is good news, but there is still no solid time-table set for his recovery.
March 24, 2008
