Travis Kirschke will start at defensive end while Brett Keisel is recovering from his calf injury according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:This is the second time in as many years that the 12 year vet will step in for a starter. Last season, he started the final four games when left defensive end Aaron Smith missed the remainder of the season with a torn right biceps. Kirschke has a history of back problems, but they have not prevented him from playing 66 consecutive games for the Steelers.

Travis Kirschke filled in for Brett Keisel Sunday night in Cleveland after Keisel was forced out of action with a right calf injury, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Kirschke registered three solo tackles, but does not look to be productive enough to consider for fantasy rosters if Keisel is forced to miss time.

Travis Kirschke and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a two-year contract extension, according to the Tribune-Review. Kirschke, who is an 11-year NFL veteran, has primarily filled a backup role in Pittsburgh for the past four campaigns – starting in only five contests.
