Whether or not it's Matt Ryan of Boston College in the first round, head coach Herman Edwards said the Kansas City Chiefs would strongly consider selecting a quarterback in the 2008 NFL draft next month, according to the Kansas City Star. Edwards said he wouldn't be averse to going into the season with Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen and a rookie at quarterback. In that case, the Chiefs would trade or release their only veteran quarterback Damon Huard.

Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle suffered a right hand or arm injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Lions. He went to the locker room. Damon Huard took his place. Croyle is supposed to be using this time of the year to prove that he's the answer for future seasons, but this is his second injury over the past four weeks.

Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle practiced on Wednesday and wants to start on Sunday against the Broncos. He did not play in Week 13 due to a sore back. "I feel like I'll be ready to go," he tells the Kansas City Star. "Whether they clear me, that's another matter. Hopefully, I'll come in (today) and tell them it feels great after a day's worth of practice, and we'll be ready to go." Fantasy owners should not plan on using Croyle or Damon Huard.
