Michael Pittman would be happy to be awarded any role with the Broncos, according to the Denver Post. The 33-year-old is fighting for a roster spot and said, "I've had a long career. I've had my time to shine as a starter. I've played a lot of football. I don't have to be the starter on this team. As long as I have a role that can help this offense win."

Our View:He is embracing his role as a reserve in the preseason, and favorably hauled in six receptions (including a 9-yard touchdown) Friday night against the Packers. He is a solid receiver out of the backfield, but also provides the team versatility to use as a fullback, meaning he could snipe some goal-line touchdowns. If he makes the team, he is worth a look as a reserve in larger IDP leagues.

Michael Pittman has been moved back to his natural position of tailback with the injury to Ryan Torain, according to the Denver Post. Pittman had been playing fullback.

Our View:Pittman won't challenge Selvin Young or even Andre Hall on the depth chart. In fact, he might be behind undrafted rookie Anthony Alridge, as well.

As speculated yesterday, Michael Pittman has confirmed that he will attempt to play fullback this season, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The Broncos made a similar move with Mike Bell a season ago. That move proved unsuccessful.

Our View:This is one less back that Selvin Young will have to beat out for the starting tailback position. Pittman stands at 6-foot, 228 pounds which may be a bit light for a fullback. The adjustment won't be easy for a 10-year veteran who is now asked to seek out contact as opposed to avoiding it which comes more natural to Pittman. Cecil Sapp is currently penciled in as the starting fullback for the Broncos.

The Denver Post suggests that Michael Pittman could end up at fullback this season. He has been a running back throughout his first ten years in the league.

The adjustment won't be easy for a 10-year veteran who may now be asked to seek out contact as opposed to avoiding it which comes more natural to Pittman. The signing of a perennial backup tailback typically isn't big news in the fantasy realm, but when Mike Shanahan inks a tailback, young, old, big or little, it's news. 32-year-old free agent Michael Pittman, a free agent from Tampa Bay is expected to see significant work in the Denver backfield according to Rototimes sources. Pittman will work with supposed starter Selvin Young and is good fit in both the running and passing scheme of the Broncos.

Our View:His arrival in Denver obviously affects the value of Young and just how many touches the veteran will receive likely won't be known until the regular season begins. This of course makes Young a risky early round draft pick in all fantasy formats.
