The woman who obtained a restraining order against Randy Moss earlier this year in a domestic violence case wants the case dismissed, according to the AP. "There has finally been acknowledgment that the injuries were not intentionally inflicted," Moss' attorney Richard Sharpstein said. Assuming the case is dismissed, Moss should be free from punishment from the league. Moss recently agreed to re-sign with the Patriots for the next three seasons.

Randy Moss chose to re-sign with the New England Patriots due to “intangibles” that pushed matters in their favor, according to ESPN. "Oftentimes, when people judge whether a contract is a success, they look at how much it's worth. But there is more to life than just pure money," Moss’ agent Tom DiPiero said. "In this case, Randy experienced some intangibles during the year, from his friendships, to his relationship with the coaching staff and others in the organization. Those intangibles had some value here." Reading between the lines, Moss chose New England because of Tom Brady, who can help cement his legacy going forward.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Eagles offered a higher annual average and more guaranteed money than did the Patriots, but in the end Randy Moss decided to stay in New England. The report notes that at one point, the Eagles thought they had Moss. One source according to ProFootballTalk.com said that the Pats won Moss “at the wire.”
