Jake Delhomme completed 11-of-19 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's preseason win over Washington. He was also picked off.

Our View:Delhomme played poorly last week, so it was good to see him play well tonight in what could be his final tuneup before the regular season.

Jake Delhomme was average in Carolina's exhibition loss to the Eagles on Thursday, though his surgically repaired elbow passed the test. Delhomme threw 14 passes and completed nine of them, or ten if you count the interception he threw. Those completions accounted for a measly 54 yards, an average of 3.9 yards per attempt.

Our View:Not necessarily a great night for presumed starting quarterbacks this evening. Both Delhomme and McNabb have seen better games and will need to play better for their squads to win during the regular season.

Jake Delhomme handled the majority of the passing reps with the first-team offense during the Panthers' final OTA sessions, according to the Rock Hill Herald. He said, "I feel ready to go. Will I have a pitch count in training camp? I'm sure I will because it will probably be the smart thing to do. In training camp there will be soreness. If there isn't soreness then I'm probably not putting in enough effort. If it's just normal soreness and not pain-wise, then everything is on track. But I feel like everything is on track."

Our View:This is great news regarding his progress, but won't get too excited until he performs well in preseason action.

Jake Delhomme is coming off Tommy John surgery, but is not believed to be restricted to a set pass count, according to the Rock Hill Herald.

Our View:He is making excellent progress in his recovery, and is putting great "zip" on his passes and isn't being held back physically, but his numbers could still be limited, as the team wants to employ a power-running game to chew up the clock, following the addition of punishing rookie rusher Jonathan Stewart.
May 29, 2008
Quarterback Jake Delhomme participated in team drills on the opening day of the team's optional workouts, and threw about 40 passes up from the 34 he threw in individual drills during April's minicamp, according to ESPN. Delhomme said he was "mentally a little rusty," but said his arm felt fine.

Our View:Delhomme had ligament-replacement surgery in his right elbow last fall after playing in only three games. The Panthers expect Delhomme to be at full strength for the start of training camp in July. And this represents another positive step in his rehabilitation from elbow surgery.
