Newsbreakers
December 6, 2007
Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner is no longer wearing a brace in practice to protect his injured left elbow. He will continue to employ the brace during game, though, according to the Arizona Republic. Combine this news with the fact Warner is now allowed to stay in during goal-line situations and it is clear his elbow is improving. Unfortunately, his receiving corps is not experiencing the same luck in the health department.

The Cardinals will keep quarterback Kurt Warner in at the goal line from now on, according to the East Valley Tribune. He was often removed in those situations because the team feared he was more susceptible to fumbles with his injured elbow. No more cheap touchdowns for Tim Rattay. This news gives Warner a slight boost in fantasy value going forward.

Kurt Warner (elbow) hasn't missed any reps the last two days and should be good to go Sunday at Cincinnati.

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner will continue to wear a brace to protect his injured left elbow and hand the ball off with his right arm, according to the Arizona Republic. Warner had no problems with the brace when it debuted in Week 7, as he threw for 282 yards and a pair of scores against the Redskins. He faces another tough pass defense this week in the Bucs.

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner told his coach that he felt no more pain than normal in his injured left arm, which needed a brace during Sunday’s game because of torn ligaments in his elbow. "It seems like he felt OK," Ken Whisenhunt told the Arizona Republic. "I talked to him . . . and there was no mention of him being uncomfortable. He took some shots and got tackled and came through it well, so I think two weeks from now he will physically be feeling a lot better." The Cardinals have a bye this week and Warner should be back under center when the team next takes the field, which is great news for Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald owners.

Kurt Warner had a solid performance Sunday, despite playing with torn ligaments in his non-throwing elbow. He was 27-of-41 for 282 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. His performance could have been even better had Tim Rattay not stepped in late for a one-play touchdown-scoring cameo. So long as Warner can stay on the field, he should be able to help fantasy teams, but he could go down at any moment of any game.

Cardinal receiver Kurt Warner is active Sunday after missing three games with a hip injury. He has a tough matchup and the Cardinals’ quarterback situation is cloudy, but fantasy owners should be using him this week.
October 21, 2007
Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner is active Sunday despite the elbow injury he suffered last week. The team has not announced if he or Tim Rattay will start against the Redskins, though.
October 20, 2007
Kurt Warner took part in some practice again on Friday. However, he felt more discomfort in his injured left elbow than he did the day before, according to the Arizona Republic. Whether he will start Sunday likely will be a game-time call, but he's anything but a safe play, even if he gets the chance to start.
October 16, 2007
Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner may try coming back to practice as soon as Wednesday after an MRI confirmed he will not need surgery to fix the torn ligament in his left elbow, according to the Arizona Republic. Warner suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Panthers.

Kurt Warner said after yesterday's game that he had a torn ligament in his elbow. "We'll see the extent of it and see what we can do as far as getting me back as soon as possible," he said, according to the Arizona Republic. More will be known about whether he'll need surgery or if he can play again this season after he has an MRI taken on Monday. Tim Rattay will start this week against the Redskins, and the Cards are expected to sign Tim Hasselbeck for depth.

Cardinal quarterback Kurt Warner left Sunday’s game with an elbow injury. He had the joint bent backwards when Julius Peppers landed on him while attempting to recover a fumble. Tim Rattay took over for Warner, whose return seems very questionable at this point.

The Cardinals rotated their quarterbacks Sunday, and veteran Kurt Warner once again proved to be more effective than Matt Leinart. Warner completed 14-of-21 passes (66.7 percent) for 132 yards and a TD, while Leinart completed just 7-of-14 passes for 93 yards and no scores. It's not clear at this point whether coach Ken Whisenhunt plans to continue this QB carousel or if Warner may supplant Leinart as the starter.

Kurt Warner replaced an ineffective Matt Leinart in the fourth quarter on Sunday and completed 15-of-20 passes for 258 yards and two scores. Warner also made a brief appearance in the second quarter. We expect Leinart to retain his starting job, although the Cardinals could give him a short leash because of how well Warner performed.

The Cardinals are denying the Viking have expressed any interest in Kurt Warner. Even if Minnesota wanted the veteran, he is not on the market. "They can't have him," head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the Arizona Republic. The Cardinals would be wise to keep Warner because he's their only experienced backup to Matt Leinart.

Kurt Warner has decided to play out the remainder of his contract, which expires after the 2008 season. “That’s what I want to do, play out this contract,” Warner told the Arizona Republic on Tuesday. “And I think after that, then it will be one of those situations where we sit down and decide what’s best.” Warner will turn 37 before his deal expires.
