The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with kicker Jason Elam on a four-year, $9 million contract, according to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network. The deal includes $3 million in guaranteed money, and ends a string of 15 seasons in Denver for Elam.

The Atlanta Falcons have been in serious negotiations with kicker Jason Elam during the past two days, according to the Denver Post. Two NFL sources said the Falcons' offer was more lucrative than what the Broncos had last presented, but that Elam was going to give his team of 15 years an attempt to sweeten its proposal. Elam ranks fifth all time with 395 career field goals and sixth with 1,786 points. And for all the concern about Elam's age and declining leg strength, he finished the 2007 season with 15 consecutive field goals and four walk-off, game-winning kicks.

Free-agent kicker Jason Elam is expected to negotiate contract terms with the Atlanta Falcons today, according to the Denver Post. If Elam is able to reach an agreement with Atlanta, then Denver might look at free agents Olindo Mare or John Carney to compete with Matt Prater. The Broncos also could also wait until several kickers are cut late in training camp, as is usually the case.

Jason Elam will visit the Falcons on Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirms. Elam has spent all of his 15 seasons with the Broncos.

Jason Elam is expected to visit with the Falcons next week, according to the Denver Post. "I am going to be taking a trip to Atlanta," Elam said. The Broncos want to keep Elam in the fold but currently aren't willing to pay him the $1 million difference in guaranteed money for 2008 that currently separates the two sides.
