According to the New York Daily News, Jeremy Shockey has told friends he'd be fine with a trade to the Saints. Sources say at least two teams have contacted the Giants about the tight end. We hear Drew Brees has worked with a pretty good pass-catching tight end in his past (Antonio Gates), and Sean Payton was a member of the Giants staff when Shockey was a rookie. We imagine Shockey would fit in immediately with the Saints.

Quarterback Drew Brees is enjoying a rehabilitation-free offseason for the first time since he joined the New Orleans Saints two years ago, according to the WBRZ News 2 Louisiana. When Brees signed with the Saints after the 2005 season, he was in the middle of recovering from major surgery on his throwing shoulder. Last season, he was recovering from a dislocated non-throwing elbow that he suffered in the Pro Bowl. Brees has passed for 8,841 yards and 54 touchdowns over the past two seasons, so the sky appears to be the limit for the quarterback, who will participate fully in the offseason program for the first time in two seasons.

David Patten praised Drew Brees during the week by saying, "Brees is the third-best quarterback in the NFL. I'll go on record as saying that." This according to the New Orleans Times Picayune. David Patten notably won three Super Bowl titles with Brady while a member of the Patriots.
