June 4, 2008 Tackle Willie Anderson missed the bulk of the 2007 season with heel and knee injuries, but today he returned to join his Cincinnati teammates and has been given full clearance to participate in team drills, according to Our View:The challenge now will be to earn his starting position at right tackle back. Since the injuries, Stacy Andrews has performed well and is slated to start at the position this season. Andrews signed a one-year tender as the Bengals' franchise player and will earn $7.455 million this year. Anderson turns 33-years of age this year, but the team signed the former Pro Bowler to a five-year, $32 million contract in 2006. Either way, money will be wasted, but the thought of dumping either player is hard to imagine. |
