Cornerback Deltha O'Neal was scheduled to make a visit with the Patriots on Monday, and apparently it went so well that the team has decided to sign him, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:O'Neal gives the team some veteran depth at the position, as they were relying on numerous young players at that spot.

Deltha O'Neal has been cut by the Bengals, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Linebacker Jim Maxwell and tight end Nate Lawrie were also let go.

Our View:This news is not viewed as a surprise, as O'Neal was not competing for a starting job at cornerback and trailed David Jones for the No. 3 spot. He was hoping to stick as a special teams performer.

Deltha O'Neal pleaded not guilty Monday to a drunken driving charge that followed his arrest in Clermont County early Saturday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. A pretrial hearing will be scheduled after a judge is assigned to the case.
