May 20, 2008 Billy Volek reportedly looked very good over the weekend during minicamp, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. He led the first team offense as Philip Rivers did not work in team drills. Our View:Volek decided not to leave as a free agent in the off-season and will be content serving as Rivers' top backup. He has generated great numbers when given a chance to start in Tennessee, but his fantasy value will remain limited this season in San Diego. |

March 1, 2008 Billy Volek decided against leaving the Chargers as a free agent, agreeing to a new contract on Friday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Details of the deal weren't available, but he reportedly could have made more money and seen more action with some of his suitors, but he wanted to stick with the Chargers coaching staff and teammates. |
