New Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is leaning on linebacker Dhani Jones to be a leader and help improve a unit that finished 27th in the league last season, according to the Sporting News. Jones, in his ninth season, is the club's most seasoned linebacker. He is expected to help the defense cut down on mistakes, play more aggressively and cause more turnovers.

Our View:Jones was the Bengals second leading tackler in 2007, despite playing in only 14 games (nine starts). Given the fact he is expected to man the middle, Jones is a legitimate sleeper who could represent a solid value pick in 2008.

Dhani Jones has agreed to terms on a three-year contract to stick with the Bengals, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Jones joined the Bengals in the middle of September and finished the season second in tackles for the Bengals with 111.

The Saints signed free agent linebacker Dhani Jones to a one-year contract on Thursday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He started 13 games for the Eagles last season.

The Eagles released Dhani Jones on Monday, according to the AP. Jones became expendable when the Eagles acquired Takeo Spikes from Buffalo over the offseason. Jones collected 76 tackles for the Eagles last season.
