Wide receiver Chris Chambers (ankle) is inactive for the Week 6 game against the Patriots. Craig (Buster) Davis will start in his place.

Our View:No surprise here, as Chambers was doubtful and not expected to play. Philip Rivers will rely heavily on Antonio Gates, as usual, and may look more to Vincent Jackson, too.

Chris Chambers is doubtful to play in Week 6 due to his ankle injury, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Craig Davis is likely to start in his place, but is not a recommended fantasy option against the Patriots' eighth ranked pass defense. Chambers only has 11 receptions this season, but has scored five touchdowns.

The Press-Enterprise reports that Chris Chambers, who injured an ankle in Miami, hasn't practiced this week. While he'd like to play Sunday night, he'll probably take it cautiously. "I'm gradually improving every day so it just depends on how I feel," he said. "I'm not going to go out here and do anything crazy in October just to get on the field when I know we have guys who can step up and play. We'll be fine."

Our View:Chambers has five touchdowns this season and has rewarded owners who drafted him. However, he is a risky start this week against New England.

The San Diego Tribune is reporting that Chris Chambers will likely be out for the Chargers Week 6 game due to an injured ankle.

Our View:With Chambers out of the lineup against the Patriots, you can expect Buster Davis to start in his place.

NFL.com is reporting that Chris Chambers injured his lowered left leg in the Chargers loss to the Dolphins. Head coach Norv Turner had no information on the seriousness of the injury after the game.

Our View:Chambers caught a TD pass in the loss which was his fifth already on the season.
