Tampa Bay Running back Michael Bennett has had an outstanding preseason and will likely see more playing time in the regular season, though he remains Earnest Graham's back-up, according to the Tampa Tribune. "He's picking up the passing game. He's just become a better, well-rounded football player and we're excited about him," said Bucs coach Jon Gruden.

Our View:Bennett and Graham have completely different styles, with Graham bruising his way down field and Bennett using his speed. It may be wise to invest a late-round pick in Bennett, or sooner if you drafted Earnest Graham.

The Bucs have signed Michael Bennett to a long-term deal, according to the team's official site. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Bennett averaged 4.6 YPC on 41 carries in eight games for the Bucs after coming over from Kansas City in a trade. He figures to back up Earnest Graham again.

October 16, 2007
The Chiefs traded Michael Bennett to the Buccaneers on Monday, according to the Kansas City Star. The terms of the deal have yet to be announced. Bennett should get plenty of playing time, as the Buccaneers have already lost three prominent running backs to injury (Carnell Williams, Michael Pittman, Mike Alstott).

Michael Bennett had 76 yards on just four touches in Thursday's win over Denver. Bennett made a significant gain each time he handled the ball, with runs of 41 and 15 yards, and catches covering 8 and 12 yards.

Michael Bennett was upgraded to probable Friday, according to the Chiefs official site, and he's expected to play Sunday despite his sore hamstring.
