Tight end Alge Crumpler, who knows the importance of a good relationship with a quarterback, thinks he has found something splendid working with Tennessee’s Vince Young, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Crumpler, who has scored 24 times during the past four seasons in Atlanta, is expected to provide Young with a quality red zone target in 2008.

Tight end Alge Crumpler has made a smooth transition from the Falcons to the Titans this offseason. His weight is down roughly 10-15 pounds and he's shown no ill effects from a knee injury that slowed him last season and limited his production, according to the Sporting News.

Our View:Crumpler and quarterback Vince Young have already developed good chemistry this offseason, watching film and working on the field together. Given the absence of proven playmakers in the receiver corps, it’s not out of the question for Crumpler to emerge as the Titan’s No. 1 receiving threat in 2008.

Alge Crumpler has shown up with his new team rededicated to the game of football, according to the Nashville City Paper. “My last couple of off-seasons had been kind of filled with rehab,” Crumpler said. “I had shoulder surgery three years ago. I had knee surgery the last couple of years, and I didn’t have anything this year. That time has allowed my body to kind of heal up. I feel good"

Our View:Crumpler showed up with 15 fewer pounds on his frame and now more closely resembles the 262 lbs he is listed at in the media guide rather than looking like a body double for the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Look for him to develop a rapport with Vince Young and to be a decent lower end tight end option this season.

The Seattle Seahawks pursued tight end Alge Crumpler on the open market, but ultimately didn’t have the salary cap space, according to Pro Football Weekly. The team also had serious concerns about the condition of Crumpler’s knee, which caused him to miss four starts and two complete games last season.

Head coach Jeff Fisher envisions new tight end Alge Crumpler being a major red zone threat according to the City Paper. “He has 35 [career] touchdown catches, so he knows how to get open in the end zone,” Fisher said at Monday’s news conference introducing Crumpler. “He knows how to get in the end zone.” Crumpler, who has scored 13 touchdowns the past two seasons, should provide a nice shot in the arm to a passing offense that only crossed the stripe nine times through the air in 2007.
