Tight end David Martin was back in action Monday after missing practice over the weekend with an undisclosed injury. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, he was running full speed during drills.

Trent Green isn't quite ready to proclaim David Martin the next Antonio Gates, but he did have good things to say about his new tight end. "I don't think you want to label David Martin as not being dominant," Green told the Miami Herald. "The fact that he's been a backup most of his career, I'm excited to see what he's going to do this year. I'm not putting him in Tony Gonzalez's class right now, but I think there's great potential there. He's picking up the offense well and shown signs of being able to do really good things in this offense."

David Martin has agreed to terms with the Dolphins on a free-agent contract, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Details of the contract weren't released. Martin will provide insurance in case Randy McMichael is traded this offseason.

David Martin aggravated his rib injury yesterday against the Lions and did not return, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Martin had been listed as questionable heading into the game due to his sore ribs.

David Martin was able to practice Thursday, though he remains questionable for Sunday's game with Detroit, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Martin is dealing with sore ribs and hasn't played since Week 10.
