The Bengals plan on giving Kenny Watson a limited role this season, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:Chris Perry looks to be healthy again, and the team seemingly expects him to serve as the primary backup to starter Rudi Johnson this season, although Watson will be given a fair chance to beat him out in training camp.

Running back Kenny Watson is one of the league's most underrated and under-appreciated backs, but he's revered by his coaches and teammates for his talent, work ethic and versatility, according to the Sporting News. He's not a breakaway threat, but shows good quickness off the ball, is a tough inside runner, and has the speed and burst to get to the perimeter.

Our View:Watson is also a solid kickoff returner and is terrific in kick coverage because of his speed and toughness. He's expected to serve as Rudi Johnson's primary backup, though the oft-injured Chris Perry will push him in training camp.

It's looking very likely that Kenny Watson will need to start Sunday against Cleveland, as Rudi Johnson is dealing with a hamstring injury and didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday.

Kenny Watson (hip) had a limited practice Thursday, according to the Bengals official site. He's the clear No. 2 back here, anyway, so you probably don't want to roll with him at Pittsburgh.

Kenny Watson ’s concussion, suffered during the Bengals’ week eight loss to the Steelers, “subsided today,” head coach Marvin Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer Monday. Lewis added that Watson was undergoing normal procedures.
