Ken Dorsey met with the Browns on Monday and indications are the team will re-sign Brady Quinn’s mentor today, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Ken Dorsey was one of Cleveland's final cuts Saturday, as the team opted to keep Derek Anderson instead. This transaction might not prove to mean a lot; Charlie Frye is expected to start the year as the team's quarterback, with touted rookie Brady Quinn pushing for playing time as the season goes along.

With Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson injured, Ken Dorsey will get the start for the Browns in the season finale, according to Sports Network. "Dorsey's been here all year," said Cleveland head coach Romeo Crennel. "He has a pretty good knowledge of the system. At times he's looked pretty good at practice and I think it's the best alternative under the circumstances." Dorsey had one incomplete pass and was sacked once after taking over for the injured Anderson this past Sunday.

Browns GM Phil Savage said it's still too early to tell whether Ken Dorsey has what it takes to be Charlie Frye's backup at quarterback, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "He's excellent in the classroom, he's a quick learner, he's a team player, and the coaches like him," Savage said. "I think it's just a matter of physical ability, but [Browns quarterbacks coach] Rip Scherer thinks he can make some mechanical adjustments that will help Ken."

The Browns acquired Ken Dorsey and an undisclosed 2007 draft pick from the 49ers Thursday in exchange for Trent Dilfer, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Dorsey started three games for the Niners last year.
