December 26, 2006
Both Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon saw action on Monday night against the Jets, and both will likely play again in Week 17, according to the Miami Herald. "We need to sort through this [today] as a staff," coach Nick Saban said. "We feel good about both guys. We'll probably end up playing both guys against Indy." Harrington struggled against the Jets, completing just 7-of-15 passes for 42 yards.

Coach Nick Saban is standing by Joey Harrington as his starting quarterback, despite replacing him with Cleo Lemon in the fourth quarter Sunday, according to the Miami Herald. "If the opportunity presents itself that Cleo Lemon gets an opportunity to play, he'll get an opportunity to play," Saban said. "But right now, as I said [Sunday] after the game, Joey Harrington is our quarterback. We're going to play him." Harrington threw for just 20 yards on 5-of-17 passing on Sunday and was picked off twice.

Joey Harrington threw for just 20 yards on 5-of-17 passing on Sunday and was picked off twice before being replaced by Cleo Lemon. Now that the Dolphins are out of the playoff hunt, they might want to give Lemon more playing time in the final two games.

The sprained ankle that Joey Harrington sustained during Sunday's game is considered to be minor, according to the Miami Herald. The Dolphins listed Harrington as probable on Wednesday's injury report.
December 13, 2006

November 10, 2006
Dolphins head coach Nick Saban has emphatically refuted an ESPN report that said he's considering moving Joey Harrington to the bench in favor of Cleo Lemon. "You guys make that stuff up and then ask me about it," Saban told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel Thursday. Although Harrington threw three touchdown passes in last week's upset win at Chicago, he also had two interceptions and made a host of questionable decisions and poor throws (one such play became a touchdown when Chris Chambers made a circus catch).
October 22, 2006
Making his third start since replacing Daunte Culpepper in the lineup, Joey Harrington threw for a career high 414 yards and two TDs Sunday. However, Harrington also completed just 33-of-62 passes and threw three interceptions on the day.
October 15, 2006
Joey Harrington was 27-of-43 for 266 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions on Sunday in his second straight start. Harrington led a furious fourth-quarter comeback, but the fact remains that he's 0-2 as a starter with four interceptions against only one TD pass.
October 9, 2006
Head coach Nick Saban stated on Monday that Joey Harrington would remain his starting quarterback, according to ESPNews. Harrington replaced the struggling Daunte Culpepper in Week 5, and he threw for 232 yards with two interceptions against New England.
October 8, 2006
Joey Harrington started in place of the injured Daunte Culpepper on Sunday, and there will be no quarterback controversy in Miami. Harrington completed 26-of-41 passes for 232 yards but was picked off twice.
October 8, 2006
ESPN reports that Joey Harrington will start at quarterback for the Dolphins today. Although Daunte Culpepper is being benched mainly because of a shoulder injury, it's not out of the question that Harrington could keep the job if he plays well and gets the Dolphins on a winning streak. Of course, anyone who has seen Harrington play knows that's unlikely.
October 6, 2006
If Daunte Culpepper's bruised shoulder prevents him from playing on Sunday, Joey Harrington would get the start. Harrington has yet to take a snap for the Dolphins this year.
May 17, 2006
Five days after acquiring Joey Harrington in a trade with the Lions, the Dolphins signed the former first-round draft choice to a three-year contract, according to ESPN.com. The deal includes a signing bonus of $2.2 million and 2006 base salary of $800,000.
May 12, 2006
Joey Harrington is officially a Dolphin after the Lions agreed to trade the underachieving QB for a sixth round pick in the 2007 draft, according to the AP. Harrington will back up Daunte Culpepper and will serve as an insurance policy should Culpepper not be ready to play at the beginning of the year.
April 20, 2006
Joey Harrington is pushing the Lions to trade him to the Dolphins or release him, according to the Miami Herald. "I look forward to joining the Miami Dolphins whenever I am released or a trade is completed," Harrington said in a statement released by agent David Dunn's office. "The Dolphins are an ascending team with great coaching, and I can't wait to get started." The Dolphins have offered a sixth-round draft pick, but Lions GM Matt Millen is holding out for a fourth-rounder.

Lions coach Rod Marinelli said Monday that the team had made a decision to move on without Joey Harrington. Marinelli would not say that Harrington had been released, though that move seems imminent. Harrington became expendable when the Lions signed Jon Kitna and Josh McCown last week.
March 16, 2006
Following the arrival of Jon Kitna, Joey Harrington has serious reservations about returning to the Lions in 2006, a person with knowledge of the situation informed the Detroit Free Press. The person declined to say whether Harrington had asked to be traded or released. However, there have been additional reports indicating that the Lions are still in talks with free agent Josh McCown, and the arrival of another free agent would almost certainly spell Harrington's departure.
February 17, 2006
Joey Harrington hasn't been named the starting quaterback in Detroit for next season, but Lions coach Rod Marinelli and offensive coordinator Mike Martz left little doubt that he is the No. 1 option, according to the Detroit News. "Yeah, he's going to be one of our quarterbacks," Marinelli said of Harrington. "I think he's a great, young talent. That's exciting for us."
