October 10, 2008 The return of tight end Jeremy Shockey to the Saints this week does not look like it is going to happen, according to the Our View:Shockey did not practice on Friday, as he is just two weeks removed from sports hernia surgery. Look for him to have a much better chance of playing Week 7. |

October 8, 2008 Jeremy Shockey returned to practice on Wednesday. The Our View:It's certainly looking up for Shockey and we should have a better idea of his availability by Friday. If he can not go this week, he seems a lock to play in Week 7. |

September 26, 2008 Updating an earlier report, Jeremy Shockey's surgery went so well that the team is hopeful he will be able to return for Week 6, according to Our View:HC Sean Payton stated that Shockey already feels "comfortable" as the medical procedure wasn't as extensive as previously believed, so there appears to be real hope that Shockey will be available available for the team's home game against the Raiders. |

September 26, 2008 Jeremy Shockey underwent successful surgery on his injured groin, and apparently the injury itself was not as extensive as first thought, according to Our View:We don't yet know if that means that Shockey will return sooner than expected, but it sure seems that we could be looking at a time frame that is closer to the low end of the estimate (three) than the long (six). |
