Newsbreakers
November 23, 2008
Maurice Morris had a big day Sunday, going for 103 yards on 14 carries. He also had three receptions for ten yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Morris could be a decent fantasy option in the coming weeks if you need help at running back, as he still has a game against St. Louis in Week 15.
November 2, 2008
Maurice Morris split carries with Julius Jones on Sunday, but neither was terribly effective. Morris had 43 yards on eight carries, while Jones had 41 yards on 10 carries.

Our View:The majority of Seattle players are not good fantasy options right now. If you have Morris or Jones, options like the Patriots' Faulk and Green-Ellis might be attractive replacements if they're available.
October 26, 2008
Maurice Morris had 11 carries for 16 yards for Seattle on Sunday.

Our View:He didn't do much, but Morris had almost twice as many carries as Julius Jones. This could be the trend going forward, as Jones' carries have been decreasing on a weekly basis.
October 19, 2008
Maurice Morris carried the ball six times for 65 yards in the Seahawks' 20-10 loss to the Buccaneers.

Our View:The Seahawks are trying to work Morris back into the offense after being injured for a couple of weeks. Fantasy owners should watch the number of carries he gets in the next couple of weeks.
October 18, 2008
Maurice Morris will receive more carries this week, as Mike Holmgren tries to get him back into Seattle's offense, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune. "It should work for us because they do a lot of similar things. But if a guy’s hot and playing well, whether it’s Julius or Mo, I’d probably leave them in for a little longer,” Holmgren stated.

Our View:Jones fared well for Seattle when Morris was out, but his production could see a fall if Holmgren sticks to his plan. Fantasy owners should take note of the situation when deciding who to insert in their lineup Sunday.
October 9, 2008
Maurice Morris has resumed practicing fully Thursday, according to the Seahawks' official website.

Our View:Morris looks to cut into Julius Jones' workload this weekend against the Packers, but exactly how much remains to be seen.
October 7, 2008
Seahawks running back Maurice Morris will be back in the mix, getting carries, as he returns from a knee injury, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:Morris' almost certainly means fewer carries for Julius Jones. However, Seattle coach Mike Holmgren did state that he is intent on getting the running game started, so it is possible both will get enough carries to be fantasy-worthy.
October 1, 2008
The News Tribune reports that Maurice Morris has officially been ruled out for Week 5 against the Giants as he is trying to battle back from a Week 1 knee injury.

Our View:Good news for Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett. When Morris does return, expect him to see 10-15 carries a game despite the success of the running game in his absence.
September 29, 2008
Maurice Morris did not practice on Monday according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:He has not been ruled out for Week 5 but even if he were, it's uncertain whether he would still be splitting carries with Julius Jones who has done very well in his absence.
September 22, 2008
Maurice Morris is expected to return in Week 5, after the club's Week 4 bye, after missing Week 3 due to a knee injury, according to The Seattle Times.

Our View:Julius Jones has been a revelation the past two weeks, but even with his solid work, HC Mike Holmgren is not yet ready to comment on how the backfield snaps will break down when Morris returns other than to say that T.J. Duckett will likely lose touches.
September 17, 2008
Maurice Morris was officially ruled out for Week 3 against the Rams due to his knee injury, according to CBSSportsline.com.

Our View:Morris was said to be out until at least Week 5 but today said he hopes to possibly play in Week 4.
September 9, 2008
Maurice Morris could miss the next three weeks due to his sprained knee, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:He hopes to return to action by Week 5. The short-term fantasy value of Julius Jones increases while Morris is out of action.
September 8, 2008
Maurice Morris will not play in Seattle's Week 2 game against San Francisco due to his sprained knee, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:Look for Julius Jones to receive the bulk of the work with Morris out. We'll keep you updated on Morris' injury.
September 8, 2008
Maurice Morris sustained a sprained right knee during battle with the Bills Sunday, but the injury is not believed to be serious, according to the Seattle Times. The team is still waiting for his MRI results but coach Mike Holmgrem said it does not appear to be a "long" injury, regarding recovery time.

Our View:His status should be updated shortly, following the results of his MRI. If he is forced to miss time, the fantasy value of Juilis Jones will increase.
September 7, 2008
Running back Maurice Morris exited the game against Buffalo with a knee injury and is scheduled to undergo an MRI tomorrow, according to the News Tribune.

Our View:His availability for next week's tilt against San Francisco is uncertain. If he's unable to play, then Julius Jones' stock will take a northward bump.
September 3, 2008
Seattle coach Mike Holmgren confirmed that Maurice Morris will get the starting nod over Julius Jones in Week 1, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:This looks to be an open competition between Maurice Morris and Julius Jones for carries. Look for each player's on field productivity to directly effect the workload.
August 31, 2008
Seahawks running back Maurice Morris has outplayed his counterparts at the position in Seattle, and should see a number of carries, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Morris should split carries with with Julius Jones, which limits his fantasy value somewhat unless a clear cut favorite emerges eventually.
