The Houston Chronicle reports that wide receiver Andre Davis should be the No. 3 receiver for the Texans on Sunday after missing four games with his dislocated finger.

Our View:Davis is not a viable fantasy option this season.
November 19, 2008

Our View:Davis doesn't have a lot of fantasy value at this point, but he could play this weekend.
November 17, 2008
Andre Davis could be on the field for the Texans in next week's game, as his finger heals from injury, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Our View:Davis had just seven catches in six games and holds no fantasy value.
November 14, 2008
Andre Davis had the pins removed from his finger earler in the week, but coach Gary Kubiak indicated that he is likely a week away from returning to action, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:Davis holds little to no value as a receiver, but is a solid kick returner, and will be missed in a tough game at Indianapolis.
November 11, 2008
Andre Davis will have the pins removed from his finger, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:This is favorable news, but that does not mean he will be cleared to play for this weekend's battle at Indianapolis.

Week 8 inactives: WR Andre Davis, S Dominique Barber, LB Xavier Adibi, G Kasey Studdard, TE Mark Bruener, DT Frank Okam, DE N.D. Kalu, OT Rashad Butler

Our View:Mario Williams is active and makes a very good start in IDP leagues. Jacoby Jones is expected to handle Davis's kickoff return duties.

Andre Davis could miss at least three weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a dislocated ring finger on his left hand, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:Davis held little value as a receiver, but was a solid kick returner. Either Jacoby Jones or David Anderson will fill his spot as the No. 3 receiver, and Jones may also replace him on kick returns. Rookie running back Steve Slaton is listed as the backup kickoff returner, but the team is trying to limit his touches to keep him healthy, which is why Jones will be considered.

Wide receiver Andre Davis underwent surgery on Monday to repair an injured left ring finger. "It's just been giving him fits," head coach Gary Kubiak tells the team's official web site. "So we’re going to go in there today, and they are going to go ahead and take a look and see if they can, it’s my understanding, to see if they can set it." There won't be a timetable on Davis until after the surgery.

Our View:Davis's biggest role is as a kick returner, and they could let Jacoby Jones fill that role is Andre needs to miss time. In other words, this injury shouldn't affect fantasy teams.
September 25, 2008
Andre Davis will see his role expanded during Week 4 for the Texans. Head coach Gary Kubiak told the Texans official web site, "he deserves to get on the field. He played well on special teams last week. He played well when we gave him his chances to make plays. And when guys do that, then you've got to get them out there and give them opportunities. He should be a big part of what we're doing all the time. He's earned that right, and we'll get him the ball."

Our View:Andre Johnson sees most of Matt Schaub's passes but with his new expanded role, you might want to keep an eye on Andre Davis.

The Steelers will battle the Texans this weekend and commented on dangerous return man Andre Davis, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Davis returned three kickoffs for scores last season and coach Mike Tomlin said, "We're familiar with this guy in the AFC North from Cleveland. He's got great straight-line speed. He's fearless. He hits the hole long-striding and that's why he generates plays."

Our View:Davis holds solid fantasy value in leagues that feature scoring for return men, and the Steelers will draw a tough assigment in the opener. Along with the three scores in 2007, Davis also averaged 30.3 yards per return.
August 7, 2008
Andre Davis is pushing for a starting spot at wide receiver opposite Andre Johnson, according to the Houston Chronicle. Quarterback Matt Schaub said, "He’s coming in with a lot of confidence. He attacked this offseason to get better and improve his intermediate route game. He’s been a big deep threat for us, but he’s developed into a much better all-around receiver for us. He’s had a tremendous two weeks here for us so far, and I’m excited to get him out there and find him in the air."

Our View:Davis finished the 2007 season strong, and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the finale against the Jaguars. He is battling Kevin Walter for the job, but is more explosive and more of a vertical threat than Walter. Davis has potential to be a late-round sleeper this season.
February 28, 2008
The Houston Texans have agreed to an undisclosed contract with wide receiver and kick returner Andre Davis, according to the Houston Chronicle. Davis' agent Kennard McGuire and Texans general manager Rick Smith spent the last two days in intense talks before reaching an agreement that keeps Davis from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Davis will continue his dual role, but is expected to be pushed by second-year wide receiver Jacoby Jones for the third receiver slot.
January 3, 2008
Wide receiver Andre Davis, who capped the 2007 season with two kick return touchdowns in Week 17, is among 15 unrestricted free agents on the Houston Texans roster. "I know I put my all out there on the field, and I’ve done my part," Davis told the Houston Chronicle. "So now it’s the business side of it where [my agent is} going to be able to negotiate, and I can sit back and just hear what’s really going on and make a decision from there."
