Seahawks receiver Deion Branch will not play in Monday’s game with the 49ers because of his foot injury, according to ESPN.com. He has missed the last three games due to the injury. Branch’s absence makes Bobby Engram a very good play tonight and also helps the value of D.J. Hackett.

A decision on whether Deion Branch will be able to play Monday won't be made until the game nears. Coach Mike Holmgren said he wants to see Branch run on his injured foot without pain if the wide receiver is going to suit up, according to the Seattle Times. "Branch, as an example, his game is quickness and speed and he's got to be able to do that, otherwise I'd be doing him a disservice and the team [to play him]," Holmgren said. Even if Branch suits up, he likely would be limited.

November 2, 2007
Deion Branch was only able to get in a limited workout Friday and looks to be a game-time call for Sunday due to his sprained foot. "We'll make that call on Sunday, but he's going to go on the trip and he's really close and he's getting better," coach Mike Holmgren said, according to the AP. "If he were to play he'd have a limited number of snaps ... specific plays." That last part is the key in fantasy terms; if he suits up, you can't expect much out of Branch on Sunday.
