Adrian Peterson established himself as the workhorse of the Vikings' offense as a rookie in 2007, but coach Brad Childress noted that there will still be plenty of carries for Chester Taylor in 2008, according to the Star Tribune. Childress said, "I think Chester has a great mindset. He knows there are going to be plenty of carries in there for him. I think he appreciates the ability to be fresh and contribute. His approach during training camp, I thought, was very good last year and it was very good during OTAs. I wouldn’t expect to see anything different."

Our View:Childress wants Peterson to remain fresh, and the team previously stated that they will experiment with formations that feature both backs. Taylor should still hold decent fantasy value in 2008, namely in PPR leagues.

The Star Tribune reports that Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor are expected to begin experimenting together in formations that feature both running backs.

Our View:This is actually good news for fantasy owners. The last thing Peterson owners need is for the second-year back to be overused and breakdown. It also means that in deep leagues, Taylor definitely has value.

Chester Taylor remains away from voluntary workouts, but head coach Brad Childress says the running back will join the club on Monday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Our View:Taylor hasn't been around for a couple weeks, but we're not too worried. He remains a valuable fantasy handcuff to stud Adrian Peterson.

Chester Taylor skipped the Vikings' voluntary workouts, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Taylor often works out on his own in the off-season, but may feel like he is being phased out of the Vikings' offense for 2008. Adrian Peterson made a significant impact in Minnesota as a rookie in 2007, and may not split as many carries with Taylor in his sophomore campaign. Taylor rushed 157 times for 844 yards (5.4 YPC average) last season.
