Newsbreakers
November 28, 2008
Kalimba Edwards was a limited participant at practice on Friday due to his injured hip flexor and as a result he will be listed as questionable to play in Week 13, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:Edwards stepped up when Derrick Burgess was injured and he has 41 tackles and five sacks for the Raiders. At this point, his availability for the weekend is, well, questionable.
November 23, 2008
Kalimba Edwards left Sunday's game with an undisclosed injury.

Our View:We will update his situation when we know more, but it didn't look serious.
October 4, 2008
Kalimba Edwards has been fined $7,500 by the NFL for a horse collar tackle against San Diego, according to ESPN.

Our View:Edwards was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness after bringing down Chargers' quarterback Philip Rivers with a horse-collar tackle late in the second quarter. Edwards was penalized for a horse-collar tackle at Kansas City in Week 2 but he wasn't fined for that play.
September 29, 2008
Kalimba Edwards registered his third sack of the season in Sunday's loss to San Diego, according to the SF Chronicle. He started at right defensive end in place of Jay Richardson. Edwards also contributed 11 tackles (all solo) and a forced fumble so far this season.

Our View:Edwards has already tied his sack total over his last two seasons with Detroit, and is off to a great start with Oakland. He is on pace to shatter his season-high sack total of seven, and is worth targeting in IDP leagues.
September 7, 2008
Head coach Lane Kiffin expects defensive end Kalimba Edwards (groin) to be available for Monday night's game against the Broncos, the Sacramento Bee reports. Edwards is a third-down pass-rush specialist heading into the season.

Our View:This news doesn't really change our outlook for the Broncos offense. Jay Cutler is facing a good-looking pass defense and won't have the services of Brandon Marshall.
