As expected, the Jets placed Jesse Chatman on IR Tuesday. He suffered a knee injury on special teams in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.

Our View:Considering that Chatman touched the ball just seven times all year, we doubt fantasy owners will be missing him much.

Jesse Chatman is expected to miss the rest of the season, according to the New York Daily News. He was injured on a kickoff late in Sunday's game against Kansas City.

Our View:Chatman didn't have much fantasy value, but if you have him on your team, it's safe to drop him at this point.

Jesse Chatman has been activated by the Jets after serving a four-game suspension, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Chatman will serve as the third running back behind starter Thomas Jones and primary backup Leon Washington, but Chatman is physical with solid size, and could potentially work in short-yardage and snipe some goal-line scores, giving him some fantasy value for deeper leagues.

The Jets were granted a roster exemption to add Jesse Chatman after serving his four game suspension according to NFL.com. “He’ll be able to work through the week with a (roster) exemption,” said Jets coach Eric Mangini. “Then starting next week, we’ll have to make some kind of decision in terms of the roster. But that, again, won’t be until next week.”

Our View:Chatman averaged four yards per carry on 126 attempts last season. He will not get many more attempts this season as long as running backs Thomas Jones and Leon Washington remain healthy.

Jets running back Jesse Chatman was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's steroids policy, according to the New York Post. However, Chatman's agent, Brett Tessler, claims that his client did not test positive for any substance, saying, "Jesse never tested positive for a steroid or any other performance-enhancing drug. Near the end of last season, the league claimed he had a diuretic in his system that they said could also be used as a masking agent."

Our View:Chatman had a nice preseason and will resume his position as a backup on the squad when he is eligible to return on September 29.
