June 24, 2008 Unemployed quarterback Byron Leftwich claims he’s lost 25 pounds in an effort to return to the NFL but that hasn’t been enough for any team to give him a look since his release by Atlanta, according to Our View:Leftwich has never navigated the full 16-game slate during his five-year career due to various injuries. Given the fact that he isn’t currently on a NFL roster, it appears that most teams have questions about his ability to stay healthy. |

November 18, 2007 Byron Leftwich got the start over Joey Harrington Sunday, but he didn't play like a guy who wanted to hang on to the starting job. Lord Byron completed just 15-of-28 passes for 106 yards while getting picked off twice. Harrington relieved Leftwich in the third quarter and played well, completing 16-of-20 passes for 139 yards and a score. The Falcons could go back to Harrington in Week 12, but whichever signal caller they end up using isn't likely to have much value. |
