Newsbreakers
November 2, 2008
Seneca Wallace went 13 for 29 for 169 yards and one touchdown on Sunday against the Eagles.

Our View:While Wallace hasn't been as mistake prone as some other fill-ins around the league, he still isn't putting up the big numbers to make him valuable in fantasy.
October 29, 2008
As expected, Seneca Wallace will make another start at quarterback for the Seahawks in the absence of Matt Hasselbeck, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune.

Our View:Wallace was pretty good last week, throwing for 222 yards and two scores, but faces a Philadelphia defense this week that allows under 200 yards passing per game.
October 26, 2008
Seneca Wallace was effective at quarterback for the Seahawks on Sunday, completing 15-of-25 passes for 222 yards and two touchdown passes.

Our View:The Seahawks needed to play well, as they couldn't get anything going on the ground with 39 yards on 28 carries. Wallace struggled mightily last week and remains a poor fantasy option should he get more chances to play this season.
October 24, 2008
Seneca Wallace is expected to make his second straight start Sunday in place of the ailing Matt Hasselbeck, who is dealing with a hyperextended knee and bulging disc in his back, according to the AP.

Our View:Wallace has a favorable match-up against the 49ers' 18th ranked pass defense, but he holds a mere 55.7 efficiency rating over 29 pass attempts, and should not be considered for fantasy lineups.
October 22, 2008
Head coach Mike Holmgrem said on Wednesday if Matt Hasselbeck can't go in Week 8 Seneca Wallace will once again get the start, according to the News Tribune.

Our View:Wallace started against the Buccaneers in Week 7 and only threw for 73 yards. If Wallace starts he will not have any fantasy value.
October 19, 2008
Seneca Wallace made the start for the Seahawks against the Buccaneers and it didn't go as well as he planned. Wallace was 12-for-23 passing with only 73 yards.

Our View:Wallace had limited mobility due to an injured calf and it caused him to stay in the pocket more than he wanted to. The Bucs defense forced him into tough situations that caused him to throw the ball away instead of scrambling.
October 17, 2008
The Seattle Times reports that Seneca Wallace will start on Sunday in Tampa Bay.

Our View:Wallace has been dealing with a calf injury that will likely limit his mobility on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how Wallace, who also plays wide receiver, performs. Don't rush to pick him up. Matt Hasselbeck should return sooner rather than later.
October 16, 2008
Seneca Wallace took reps with the first-team offense on Thursday after limited work on Wednesday, making it likely he'll start for Seattle in their Week 7 contest, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:Wallace was dealing with a calf injury, and he'll make the start for the Seahawks barring any setback to his malady.
October 15, 2008
Seneca Wallace (calf) returned to practice on Wednesday and will likely end up starting for the Seahawks this week over Charlie Frye if he can make it through a week of practice, according to ESPN. "It's different playing in the game, but I feel good out here," Wallace said. "We'll take it day by day and see how it goes."

Our View:Neither option is a good bet to have much value this weekend in the matchup with the Bucs. Wallace appears to have the advantage after Frye's awful effort last time out but again, only the desperate should apply here.
October 8, 2008
Seahawks quarterback Seneca Wallace missed practice on Wednesday with an injured calf, according to the AP.

Our View:The Seahawks did not say how serious the knee injury to Wallace is. There is no word on his status for Week 6.
September 15, 2008
Quarterback Seneca Wallace is expected to miss three-to-four weeks after strained his left calf during pre-game warm-ups on Sunday, the Seattle Times reports.

Our View:How many more injuries can the Seahawks possibly incur on offense? If this happened on Madden, we'd hit the reset button or simply start a new season. Matt Hasselbeck better start wearing bubble wrap.
September 14, 2008
Seneca Wallace appeared to have injured his left calf during pregame warmups Sunday. Wallace is playing wide receiver with all of the team's injuries at the position.

Our View:Wallace shouldn't be in your lineup anyway, but this makes an already super thin Seattle receiving corps even thinner.
September 10, 2008
With the Seahawks top four receivers injured, backup quarterback Seneca Wallace practiced as a receiver Wednesday. It looks like Wallace will see time at receiver this weekend and may even start, according to the News Tribune.

Our View:It is still unknown how much time Wallace will see at receiver but if he plays he might be worth a look in deep leagues.
September 8, 2008
Seneca Wallace took over as the lead punt returner after Nate Burleson went down with a knee injury against Buffalo, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:If Burleson is unable to play against San Francisco in Week 2, coach Mike Holmgren will have to revisit who to pencil in for the return job, meaning Wallace may not be his choice.
August 30, 2008
With injury concerns found throughout the receiving corps, sources close to the Seahawks report backup quarterback Seneca Wallace is being considered for a versatile role in the offense that would line him up in various positions, including quarterback and receiver, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The Seahawks have interest in keeping the athletic skills Wallace can offer in the mix. The growing issues at receiver will open opportunities there, but they will be limited and are not likely to result in substantial fantasy production.
