Bobby Wade will be pushed for his job as a punt and kick returner, according to the Star Tribune. The top contenders who will compete to unseat him will be speedy cornerback Charles Gordon, and receiver Aundrae Ellison. Bernard Berrian is said to get a look as well.

Our View:Former 49ers' running back Maurice Hicks is already believed to be the favorite for the role on kick returns. Wade still has a good shot to hold on to his duty on punts, and holds an experience edge over speed.

Bobby Wade did not practice on Thursday. The Minneapolis Star Tribune notes that he was given the day off to rest a nagging knee injury.

Our View:Wade has been playing through the injury and should be healthy enough to play in the regular season finale against the Broncos.

Bobby Wade was limited in last week's game against San Diego due to a hyper-extended knee, and he's been limited in practice again this week, according to the AP. Wade's availability for this weekend's contest against Green Bay is unclear.

Bobby Wade did not practice on Wednesday and is unlikely to play on Sunday against the Chargers, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He is nursing a hyperextended knee.

Bobby Wade suffered a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise during Sunday’s loss to the Eagles. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on Tuesday that the training staff will wait until the swelling goes down in his knee to make a decision on his status for Week 9.
