In an effort to shore up their defensive tackle position, the Minnesota Vikings have signed Jimmy Kennedy, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Kennedy was a bust as the first-round pick of the Rams in 2003, and has subsequently bounced around the league. He was cut by Jacksonville in late November.

Jaguars defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy was released by the team on Monday, according to Jaguars.com.

Our View:Kennedy was the 12th overall pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2003. He was a bust and got cut after 2006, only to sign with Denver last year and get cut after training camp. He played a few games in Chicago before coming to Jacksonville this year and was basically irrelevant, with six tackles and one sack.

That means the defensive tackle is now a Jaguar and will make $605,000, plus a $50,000 signing bonus in 2008. He was just a backup last year and will serve in the same role for the Jags.
