Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha (neck) will miss the Week 17 game in Tampa, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports.

Our View:This is excellent news for Jeff Garcia and Antonio Bryant.

Nnamdi Asomugha missed his third consecutive practice on Friday due to a sore neck, according to the Contra Costa Times. As a result, he will is listed as questionable for Week 17. "He hasn’t gotten the flexibility yet," HC Tom Cable said. "Still pretty stiff.”

Our View:Asomugha will more than likely play this weekend, though he left before talking to the media on Friday which throws up a few red flags. Monitor for any updates before now and kickoff, but we think he is more likely than not to lace them up.

X-rays on Nnamdi Asomugha's neck came back negative, according to the SF Chronicle. Coach Tom Cable likened the injury to a stinger.

Our View:The elite cornerback is expected to play Sunday, so Jeff Garcia and the Buccaneers' aerial attack won't catch a break.

The Oakland Tribune reports that Nnamdi Asomugha missed some time in Sunday's win over Houston with a neck injury.

Our View:Asomugha is one of the better cornerbacks in the league and he played a big role in shutting down Andre Johnson in the game. Keep an eye on the injury reports to determine if he will play in Week 16.

Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is one of the top players in the league, and he wants a big contract in the offseason, but the team may designate him as their franchise player, which would lead to a holdout, according to the Sporting News Today.

Our View:Asomugha would make nearly $12 million if he is given the franchise tag, but he is also likely tired of losing and everything else that goes on in Oakland, so he may want out of there no matter what.
