It didn't take the Rams long to find a replacement for the retired Jeff Wilkins. They sniped Josh Brown from the division rival Seahawks Friday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Brown has been one of the better kickers in the league over the last few years, and his value will go up a bit with a move from rainy Seattle to a dome in St. Louis.

The St. Louis Rams are talking with Seattle free-agent kicker Josh Brown, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Seahawks have until Thursday to dub a franchise player. A decision could come on Wednesday, and the club is deciding between Josh Brown, Marcus Trufant and Sean Locklear, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. Which player gets the tag will depend on how contract talks are flowing between the Seahawks and the three players.

The Seahawks must designate a franchise player by Thursday, according to the Seattle Times, if they choose to do so. Hawks beat writer Danny O'Neil suggests the team will protect Josh Brown for now, but if the Seahawks can sign Brown to a long-term deal by Thursday they can reassign the tag to CB Marcus Trufant.

Seahawks kicker Josh Brown apparently isn’t used to cold weather. Brown will wear pants with battery-powered heaters in his pants during Saturday’s playoff game in Green Bay to keep his legs at 75 degrees, according to the Associated Press. Brown brings up a valid point that kickers have a harder time staying lose because their on the sidelines most of the game. However, this will not help kickers’ attempt to be more respected members of the football community.
