Rams kicker Josh Brown was named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Month after making 9-of-10 field goal attempts, including a game winner against the Redskins, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Brown is one of the best kickers in the game, and he has hit on 14 of his 16 attempts this year, including four of six from at least 50 yards. Fantasy owners who get extra points for long field goals should take note.

It didn't take the Rams long to find a replacement for the retired Jeff Wilkins. They sniped Josh Brown from the division rival Seahawks Friday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Brown has been one of the better kickers in the league over the last few years, and his value will go up a bit with a move from rainy Seattle to a dome in St. Louis.

The St. Louis Rams are talking with Seattle free-agent kicker Josh Brown, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. With Jeff Wilkins’ recent retirement the organization is suddenly in the market for a veteran place kicker. Brown has spent his entire five-year career in Seattle, converting 116 of 145 field goal attempts (80.0%) during this period of time.

The Seahawks have until Thursday to dub a franchise player. A decision could come on Wednesday, and the club is deciding between Josh Brown, Marcus Trufant and Sean Locklear, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. Which player gets the tag will depend on how contract talks are flowing between the Seahawks and the three players.

The Seahawks must designate a franchise player by Thursday, according to the Seattle Times, if they choose to do so. Hawks beat writer Danny O'Neil suggests the team will protect Josh Brown for now, but if the Seahawks can sign Brown to a long-term deal by Thursday they can reassign the tag to CB Marcus Trufant.
