Angelo Crowell underwent surgery on his injured left knee this week, according to the Buffalo News.

Our View:His recovery time was not immediately known. He will become a free agent in the off-season and his market value has likely taken a hit due to the injury.

Angelo Crowell was said to be out of action for two to four weeks because of surgery on his knee, but now comes word that he has been placed on the IR ending his season, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:Wow, a terrible loss for the Bills and IDP leagues everywhere after Angelo racked up 126 tackles last season. Keith Ellison will have to elevate his game to a whole other level this season or the Bills defense will have a gaping hole at the linebacker position.

Bills linebacker Angelo Crowell will be out for the team's Week 1 contest after deciding to undergo surgery on his ailing knee, according to BuffaloBills.com. "It came pretty much out of the blue and it was certainly nothing that we saw coming, but that’s kind of the way our business is," said Bills head coach Dick Jauron.

Our View:Crowell, who accumulated 126 tackles last season, should be out anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Keith Ellison will replace him in the lineup.

The Bills are going out of their way to file public praise for linebacker Angelo Crowell , according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The veteran has been a strong contributor at times but his struggles for consistency have left the team wondering if he is giving maximum effort. This season the team reports Crowell is a regular at optional workouts, is putting new-found focus on technique, and is looking to insure the Buffalo linebacking corps (welcoming back injured Paul Posluszny and top veteran Kawika Mitchell) is one of the best in the business. If he comes through as hoped, this Bills defense could prove to be one of the more undervalued in the league.

Angelo Crowell suffered a broken bone in his left leg Sunday, and he'll miss the rest of the season, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. He's not expected to need surgery. "It's tough for him and it's tough for us," said coach Dick Jauron. "He was playing well and getting more used to the scheme. It's a tough one and disappointing. But as we know, it's a rough game. Everybody loses players, and it gives somebody else an opportunity to step up and perform." Keith Ellison is the most likely candidate to replace Crowell.
