Newsbreakers
October 13, 2008
Cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. is out for the remainder of the year with a broken ankle, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View:Manning had a sack in the game against the Redskins, and was blitzing again when his ankle turned, breaking it. Fahkir Brown was re-signed to the team, helping ease Manning's loss.
October 12, 2008
Cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. broke a bone in his ankle during the Week 6 win over the Redskins, the AP reports.

Our View:The Rams are already thin at cornerback, and this injury won't help matters. The defense held Jason Campbell in check this week, but we won't hesitate to start passers against them in the future.
October 12, 2008
Nickel cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. exited the game against Washington in the second quarter with a hamstring injury.

Our View:No additional information is currently available.
August 31, 2008
The St. Louis Rams have signed cornerback Ricky Manning Jr., days after he was cut by the Chicago Bears, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Manning Jr. was the Bears nickel back, and could serve in the same capacity for the Rams. Starting corner Fakhir Brown is injured with rotator cuff problems, and the Rams were short on depth at the position.
August 26, 2008
The Bears released Ricky Manning Tuesday. He had been asking for a trade, but his high contract made cutting him loose the only realistic option.

Our View:Manning couldn't crack the two-deep on Chicago's depth chart, but he shouldn't have trouble finding any takers now that he's a free agent.
