September 1, 2008 49ers linebacker Tully Banta-Cain's roster spot was in trouble during training camp, and deciding to take a pay cut landed him on the team, according to the Our View:Banta-Cain signed with the team as a free agent, and did not perform bad, with 41 tackles and 3.5 sacks, but he is not an every down player and was making too much for someone in a specialized role. |
