The Charlotte Observer reports that Ian Scott's injury, that forced him to be carted off of the field on Wednesday, appears to be a sprain to his medial collateral ligament. He will miss a couple of weeks, but should be ready to return to practice by mid-August.

Our View:Scott was signed as a free agent to compete in the defensive tackle rotation and figured to be a primary backup. He should be 100% by Week 1.

Pro Football Weekly reports that Ian Scott apparently suffered a serious injury to his knee on Wednesday morning. He will undergo medical tests this afternoon.

Our View:He was signed as a free agent to compete in the defensive tackle rotation and figured to be a primary backup. We'll keep you posted on the severity of the injury.

Ian Scott has been signed by the Panthers, according to the Rock Hill Herald. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Scott spent four years in Chicago, and had a brief stint with the Eagles, which ended with a knee injury.

Our View:He has good size at 6-3 302 and will serve as depth along the interior of their defensive line. The team recently added Darwin Walker, and drafted Nick Hayden of Wisconsin in the sixth round. Scott holds no fantasy value.
