Sam Williams and Robert Thomas are in a battle for the starting gig at strong-side linebacker, according to InsideBayArea.com. Both candidates are getting reps with the first-team.

Our View:Williams only made 16 tackles (11 solo) in 2007 and was unseated by Thomas as the starter, but Williams is getting another shot to win back the job. There shouldn't be much fantasy value from this spot in Oakland, regardless of which guy occupies it.
