Vinny Ciurciu will get the start at middle linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Ciurciu beat out both Dontarrious Thomas and Napoleon Harris for the job. It was thought that Harris had the inside edge, but that apparently wasn't the case.

NFL.com reports that linebacker and special teams ace Vinny Ciurciu suffered an apparent knee injury on kick coverage during the third quarter against the Panthers. Trainers checked Ciurciu’s right knee as he was down on the field. He was able to limp off the field under his own power. Coach Brad Childress said Ciurciu was scheduled for an MRI exam on Monday.

Our View:Ciurciu is much more of a factor on special teams than on defense. He had not recorded a tackle on the season prior to the game.
