The Browns have agreed to a contract extension with Kellen Winslow Jr., according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The new deal runs through 2010 and includes incentives that will allow Winslow to recoup much of the bonus money he lost because of injuries sustained during his motorcycle accident.

Kellen Winslow has been battling a staph infection for six weeks while recovering from knee surgery on June 14, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He is down to 29 pounds under his listed playing weight. Winslow will miss the 2005 season and expects to be at full health in February.

In an interview with the Akron Beacon Journal, Kellen Winslow described for the first time all of his injuries resulting from his motorcycle accident. He suffered a lacerated liver and kidney, a bruised right shoulder, a torn ACL and a hairline fracture of his femur. Winslow added that all the injuries are healed except for the torn ACL in his knee, which will be operated on today.

He has been coming to the Browns' facilities everyday for rehab, and he's been on the field during the club's recent passing camp, learning the new offense with the rest of his teammates. Kellen Winslow Jr. suffered unknown injuries in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, according to the AP. Police Lt. Ray Arcuri said that Winslow had minor visible injuries after he was thrown from his bike when it hit a curb at about 35 mph. Winslow reportedly complained of chest pain, but a team spokesman said the injuries were not life threatening.
