The Houston Texans are not interested in acquiring the services of running back Tatum Bell, according to the Houston Chronicle. They never did work him out, as was initially reported.

Our View:Bell may have a difficult time finding work anywhere after (allegedly) stealing the bags of new Lions running back Rudi Johnson after being cut.

Tatum Bell has reportedly flown to Houston (without Rudi Johnson's bags) for an audition with the Texans, according to the Detroit News. Before leaving Detroit Bell said, "I had a good camp. I was pretty much solid and was consistent but it did not translate in the game for me. This is no hard feelings. I am going to go out and work."

Our View:Alex Gibbs is an assistant head coach with the Texans, and previously worked with Bell in Denver as line coach. He would benefit from joining Houston, but not to the point where he would be counted on to make a solid fantasy impact.

In an act of pettiness that is almost difficult to believe, former Lions running back Tatum Bell stole the bags that new Lions running back Rudi Johnson brought with him to the Lions complex, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Bell was spotted taking them by surveillance cameras at the team's offices, and he subsequently took them to a female friend's house.

Our View:Bell was caught, of course, and apparently gave the excuse that he thought they were someone else's bag. Johnson has since gotten his things back.

Tatum Bell has been released by the Lions following the acquisition of Rudi Johnson, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:The source believes the Texans may target Bell. Bell lost enthusiasm for football through training camp and the preseason, and his lack of dedication led to his release.

Tatum Bell may be playing his way out of a job. He picked up only nine yards on four carries Saturday in the win over Cleveland.

Our View:Kevin Smith and Brian Calhoun both ran well, gaining 106 yards between them. It's possible we could see Bell cut this week.
